Here's an apple crisp recipe that is very easy, very good, and does not
use oatmeal as the topping. Amounts are approximate:
6 apples
1/2 c. whole wheat flour
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 t. ground cinnamon
1/2 t. ground nutmeg
1/4 c. butter
Wash, core, and slice apples. Arrange in baking dish. Mix together flour,
sugar, and spices. Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle flour
mixture on top of apples. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or
until apples are tender. Uncover and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
